College Movie Project: Clerks 2, Lost in Translation and Sideways (and kinda V for Vendetta)

Over the last few weeks the mane in my life has helped me watch quite a few movies for my movie project. With little to no respect for keeping chronology...or even some of my original rules.

Summer 2006: Clerks 2

Movie Facts:
Directed by Kevin Smith
Google Genre: Buddy film(?)/Comedy
Movie Tagline: With no power comes no responsibility. (true)
Actors: Jeff Anderson and Brian O'Halloran which you'll only know from Clerks or other Kevin Smith movies; Rosario Dawson who I guess wasn't a big enough star at the time to realize she should turn this down.

Before Rewatch:
I was slightly annoyed to be watching it out of order, I had plans to watch Clerks on Election night because the very first time I saw it was on election night in 2004 and I had since watched on each subsequent election nights, must less stressful than actually watching the election. But I ignored my type-a-ness to watch it in order.

I told the man how much I loved this movie when it came out and the scene in the jail always made me cry and that it's such a great friend movie. Neither of us had probably seen it in a few years.

After Rewatch:
I didn't cry this time. I still enjoy this movie, it makes me laugh and I do appreciate the mail bonding in jail scene but I don't know. To me the whole situation was just so sad. I feel like because I am now someone who hates when people are miserable in their jobs, I find it personally offensive, I think I didn't appreciate it as much as I used to. I feel like I just didn't find anything redeeming in it really.

My favorite scene is probably the argument about Star Wars and Lord of the Rings, I know people like that even today. Can't we all just get along! I severely dislike the Lord of the Rings because I was tricked into watching 9,000 hours of the extended versions without my knowledge and I will never get those hours of my life back. But I can still appreciate it's place in the world, but yes Star Wars will always be better- suck it.

I probably laughed hardest at the Wanda Sykes cameo and Earthquake.

Overall I really don't care for this movie as much without it's partner. I think when you watch Clerks then Clerks 2 it just makes better sense and you don't feel so shocked by everything. It's probably the first Kevin Smith movie I'd watched in a few years, it's just not high on my rotation list.

Fall 2003: Lost in Translation

Movie Facts:
Directed by Sophia Coppola
Google Genre: Drama Film/Indie Film
Movie Tagline: Sometimes you have to go halfway around the world to come full circle.
Actors: Bill Murray this was before the big Murray revival right? He's great in this.
Scarlet Johansson is the perfect lost little millennial. The man didn't like her performance, I tried to convince him it was appropriate...I think I failed.

Before Rewatch:
I love this movie! I watch this movie probably a couple times a year and just love it so much. I feel like when it came out I could totally relate to the whole, what am I going to do with this ridiculously expensive liberal arts degree I'm working on! I would have been a Freshman at TLU at the time so I probably still thought it was an awesome idea and I wonder if this made me rethink that...I don't regret my degree but I can relate to the feeling that one might.

After Rewatch:
Where the fuck did those drugs come from? OMG I did not remember that drug scene at all! I remember the scene but I did not remember that they took drugs, I literally have watched this movie dozens of times and had never noticed it. This probably all goes back to me being so incredibly naive when it comes to drug culture but seriously did not remember that.

Something that I really thought about this time too that I normally don't care about or pay attention to was Giovanni Ribisi's character. He really doesn't do anything terribly wrong. I mean he's a little neglectful or his wife's feelings, but nothing really terrible. He sends her a sweet love-fax (I want a love-fax) and he puts his arm around her when Anna Faris' character is being annoying, so honestly I feel like it's the post marriage thing- marriage changes everything (when will people believe me) and that the person you married is totally different than who you knew before. I also think that is a totally relatable feeling of marrying someone and then being like oh-shit I've made a mistake who is this person. Especially if you marry someone while you're still in school!

On the other side of it I always kinda ignore Bill Murray's fling with the lounge singer, where was Scarlet at this point? Why didn't he just go find her, or was he drunk? He must have been drunk right because when he wakes up the next morning he seems to really rethink his poor choices.

One of my favorite things about this movie is probably how little dialogue is actually in it. I love the montages and the scenery- the temple, the flower arranging class, the pool, the city lights, the arcade...it's just cool to see without a lot of distractions.

I still love this movie and will probably always love it. It's so good and always makes me smile. And no I don't care what Bill Murray whispers in her ear at the end. It would not make the world a better place knowing what they are.

Spring 2004: Sideways

Movie Facts:
Directed by Alexander Payne
Google Genre: Drama film/Comedy-Drama
Movie Tagline: In search of wine. In search of women. In search for themselves.
Actors: Paul Giamatti duuuude get over it. But he's great in this role.
Thomas Haden Church hey it's the guy from Wings!
Virginia Madsen is a goddess and I love her.

Before Rewatch:
I remember I saw this with my first college boyfriend. This was way before I started really getting into wine, like years before and I remember still loving it. I remember Virginia Madsen's scene that they showed that year at the Academy Awards or Golden Globes when she's talking about wine being alive. I just remember loving her character so much and while it's totally not fully developed enough I just love her.

After Rewatch:
Still love this movie. I've probably watched this movie a handful of times after really starting to get into wine and whenever I go to wine tastings or a winery or anything I always think about certain scenes. I think it's fun to think about two men doing this, especially since my girlfriends and I have been talking about doing this for a few years. I think it's funny that they would go to wine country for a bachelor weekend...especially when the soon to be married bachelor isn't really into wine.

Not even 10 minutes into the movie I started laughing not at what was on the screen but just thinking about a scene- the man in my life asked me what was funny and I told him I was just thinking about a scene.  A little bit later there's a scene where the men are at a winery tasting wine and Thomas Haden Church's character is trying to describe the wine and Paul Giamatti turns to him and says "Are you chewing gum?" and it does a quick cut to the next scene and I just start cracking up! It's one of my favorite scenes and always makes me laugh. Just thinking about it now still makes me chuckle.

People who know me know I don't like comedies, it has to be a really specific type of comedy for me to like it. So movies like this that are so funny but still so dark and depressing are really my favorite types of movies. I love the swing of emotions. The ending is rough for some people, I know people don't like unfinished things but I'm fine with it. I like to think that Virginia Madsen's character opens the door and maybe they don't get together immediately but become friends and eventually figure it out. I'd be upset if she immediately let him in. I love this movie and will keep watching it.

BONUS MOVIE: Spring 2006: V for Vendetta

Movie Facts:
Directed by James McTeigue
Google Genre: Drama film/Thriller
Movie Tagline: People should not be afraid of their governments. Governments should be afraid of their people.
Actors: Natalie Portman love her! It always takes me a little bit to get used to her accent but once I do I love her.
Hugo Weaving isn't there like some weird thing about his role in this, like he wasn't the original V but does the voice? Or he did the acting but someone else did the voice? I can't remember
Stephen Rea love him! The eternal police detective, but he plays it so well.

Before Rewatch:
Okay I did not watch this when it came out. I watched it at some other point afterwards. Probably on November 5th, because I've been watching it on November 5th for years and years, which is why it's a bonus movie because it fits the timeframe and the man and I watched it on the 5th. We watched it right before the election and of course a few days later it's viewing takes on a bit more of a surreal quality, but it's always a good movie to watch annually.

After Rewatch:
I love Natalie Portman but he character's motives are just not very clear in the beginning. Does she want to have dinner with Stephen Fry or not? If she does why the hell is she so late? Also the next day at work why does she look so suspicious when delivering the packages? She already looks like she know's she's going to try to deceive someone. I don't know--- always bothers me, still bothers me.

I always want to know more about Larkin and what the experiments were there. It reminds me of something out of a Margaret Atwood book. I want to know more about the doctor and her involvement and all of it. Like an Atwood book it's scary to think about some of these things happening and Stephen Rea's monologue about guessing how it'll happen - someone will do something stupid. It always starts with someone doing something stupid...

My favorite scene is always the first one with V blowing up Old Bailey and Evey looks at V like he's crazy conducting a fake symphony. It always makes me laugh.

It's a good movie, I enjoy watching it once a year and will continue to do so.

Final Thoughts:
I really love all these movies except Clerks 2, it'll probably have to wait another 4 years or so to be watched again. Lost in Translation out of the bunch is my favorite probably followed by V and then Sideways.

College Movie Project: Stranger Than Fiction Fall 2006

It's movie project time!  Read about it there <<<<<

Fall 2006: Stranger Than Fiction

Movie Facts:
Directed by Marc Forster

Google Genre: Fantasy/Drama
Movie tagline: Harold Crick isn't ready to go. Period.
Will Ferrell being not funny- I mean he's funny too, but it's a serious role (also I will never not first call him Colin Farrell)
Emma Thompson who is a goddess and I love her.
Maggie Gyllenhaal who always annoys me- why is she a love interest ever! but I love her husband.

Before the Rewatch:

Monday night? I laid out all the movie choices on my coffee table and let the man in my life pick one since obviously I'd be watching all of them. Me to the man in my life- "you haven't seen it? It's so good!"...that's it. Apparently I sold it/he already wanted to watch it- whatever.

The next day talking to my sister she said "oh I don't think I've seen that" and I reminded her that she vehemently refused to see it with daddy and I. Dad and I went to see it back over Christmas break that year and she wanted nothing to do with it. After I shared the summary she said "oh yah that doesn't sound like something I'd like" and I STILL disagree, she would like it. I really enjoyed it, dad thought it was weird but enjoyed Dustin Hoffman's role and he always likes when funny people play drama roles.

After the Rewatch:
The man in my life laughed a lot during this movie. There were a couple of places where I re-laughed. I can't remember if I cried the first time I saw it- I could see myself crying back then, but now I'm just touched, it's sweet. I love the ending and think it's all really touching. I love when Dustin Hoffman and Emma Thompson's characters finally meet and hope they got together after that scene. (cheese city I know) Queen Latifah is fairly forgettable in her role but has some good moments. It's nice she wants to help Emma Thompson kill Harold...kinda.

My favorite scene back then was when Harold brings Ana "flowers". I always loved that! Now I just roll my eyes but that's also probably because I have a really screwed up sense of romance...no not screwed up I just don't like most romantic things is what it actually is.

Now my favorite scene is probably the one right after that, Ana makes Harold dinner and as she's cleaning up he starts playing her guitar and she walks back in and jumps him. Much more realistic to me.

The funniest parts to me were either after Harold finds out he's going to die and he runs back to his apartment "Harold frantically grabbed his lamp. Harold, incensed, shook the hell out of it for no apparent reason" or when he's trying not to move the plot along and watches a days worth of Discovery channel where animals are being violently eaten- then a wrecking ball finds him.

Final Thoughts:
I still really like this movie. It's not very frequent on my rotation but every once in a while I pick it up for it's dry humor. If you know my movie taste you know comedy is so not my thing, I like thoughtful comedy and typical Will Ferrell movies are not my thing (and yes sometimes I do say that in a really mean way- sorry). I love all the Spoon songs sprinkled throughout and just find it entertaining.

So good job 2006 starting things off well.

September 2003 - December 2006 in Movies

Before I turned 30 I did this really silly movie project where I watched 30 movies in kinda 30 days where I challenged myself to watch a movie from every year I'd been alive. It was a super fun project that totally took more than 30 days but I did watch a movie from each year and some were good and some were bad. But since I enjoyed it so much I thought I'd do the same thing (kinda) for my 10 year college graduation anniversary! I was just going to do a movie per year like my 30 project but then that'd be really short and I wanted to make it more interesting...so I'm going to do more than that but break it up into semesters. So Fall 2003, Spring 2005, Summer 2006...etc. I made a list to start it off!  I'll have till December 16th to finish it.

These are all the movies I saw when I was at TLU, the ones in italics are the ones I think I'm going to watch. * = I own it. If it was in my 30:30:30 project it's noted and will not be re-watched for this project. (Special Note: Google and Wikipedia have a disagreement or two on when movies came out so there could honestly be a few more I'm missing but I'm only including here the ones I saw in the theatre not movies that came out and I then saw later, I may make another list of those later...)

I graduated college early how did I have time to see 67 movies? Some of these were clearly not my choice to see and I am going to only watch movies I own for this project. But I'm going to try to do at least 16 movies since I graduated on December 16th (yes I know I'm ridiculous). But may do a bonus one for fun! I think it'll be fun to look back on these movies, do similar reviews like I did last time but also think about where I was when in my life when I saw these different movies, who I saw them with, what they meant then and if they mean the same thing now. There are some semesters where I loved so many movies and then others I was kinda meh on, so should be fun.

Stay tuned....also I need a project name...16 for 16? 10:16? TLU 3, 4, 5, 6? Suggestions?

1,461 Days Ago.

4 years ago I started a series of day posts...They're only days. It was in reaction to my impending divorce and move to BCS. I went back 6 years for that one. But I have always been a little bit obsessed with important days, dates, nostalgia and the like. I don't think I live in the past but I can't help remembering it- constantly. Okay maybe it's a problem. Lets look at some days!

313 days ago I told my apartment complex in BCS I'd be ending my lease May 30, 2016...I didn't have a job yet, but by hook or by crook I was heading home at the end of May.

243 days ago I got into Law School! St. Mary's Law School- the only one I wanted to go to. Where my dad went and of course back home in San Antonio. I cried hysterically, called my dad and he totally lacked enthusiasm because he had no doubt I would get in- THANKS DAD! Then I called everyone else and we all cried together.

Shit was getting real.

215 days ago I accepted my position at Palo Alto on the phone at 5:05 PM and proceeded to cry on Greg and Andrew's shoulders for another half hour freaking out about life.

183 days ago I left College Station. I thought my decision to leave San Antonio was hard, this was harder. I voluntarily left to pursue a new job, law school, and most importantly being with my family more.

These past 9 months have been amazing. They've also been incredibly challenging. Like when I moved to BCS it's hard to make new friends, start a new job knowing no one and of course not having your wine drinking friends by your side is just the worst! (Miss you my ladies that drink!) But these months have been filled with laughter and tears and love and hugs and more tears and music and stress and delicious REAL Mexican Food. So it's all worth it.

I don't have any major insights or anything but I'm weird about dates and couldn't just let it go by.

Why did I give that book 2 stars? (aka Mid-Year Book Report)

Normally this time of year, or really two months ago, (2015) I would do a mid-year book report on my stats, what I’ve liked, what trends I’m noticing and the likes. This year however my mid-year book report is really sad, I haven’t read very much and don’t really have more to say than what my reviews are saying. I’m at 14 and I could make a million excuses but the main one is I haven’t wanted to- I moved and am spending way too much time doing a million other things.

So instead I noticed the other day a book came up in my Goodreads feed that I had such a fond memory of but when I looked at my rating I had given it 2 stars. I remembered it so fondly but when I re-read my review and why I marked it so low I didn’t remember any of that! I feel like I’ve touched on this before, I very very frequently remember a book much more fondly than my initial reaction and review of a book. So I thought I’d look back at my 2 star books from the past 5 years and see if there are any others that stick out like that- low review but I remember them more fondly.

2011- this is a year I remember as the year I read all the Harry Potter books and started the Sookie Stackhouse series.

Garden Spells by Sarah Addison Allen. Why did I give this two stars? I didn’t even write a review on Goodreads how sad! I remember this book super fondly and then read the sequel a few years later. I remember enjoying the family aspect and the wanting to branch out from your family stuff as well as a somewhat non-cheesey romance. I don’t think it deserves like 5 stars but at least a solid 3 stars at least. I think I got it as a Nook Freebie or for like $1.99.  Interesting

2012- Ah yes the year I painfully introduced myself to Haruki Murakami (he’s now a favorite author of mine) and also the year I read too many damn books- 55 to be exact.

Graveminder by Melissa Marr. The book that started this! I don’t remember hating this book at all! Looking back at it I think of it as a super fun book about a paranormal graveminder, with zombies I’m okay with, gangsters, weird dimensions, and a young woman having to make a choice about her life and love. My review “The ending was horrible. It felt rushed and thrown together. some things were never resolved and parts were written like it was going to be a series instead of a stand alone book. I expected a lot more from this book and it did not deliver. the idea had promise, it just wasn't realized.” I don’t remember the ending now...or at least I don’t remember why it was horrible, but this is seriously a book I check out every once in awhile to see if a sequel has been published because I’d like to revisit the world.

2013- Another year in which I read too many damn books, 56 this time. Also the year I read all the Margaret Atwood and Fantasy type books, I read the Narnia series for the first time. There are no dissonant 2 star reviews this year. The books I gave low star counts too totally deserved it. I also got better at writing reviews this year I so I still stand by what I said.

2014- The year I scaled back to a reasonable 30 books. No real overarching theme this year, it was kinda all over the place.

Hollow City by Ransom Riggs. I really liked this book! Duh. The problem with the Miss Peregrine’s Peculiar Children series is that as a whole I really liked the series, but individually I had a lot of problems with the books. Goodreads status update from 44% into the book “eeek this is intense”. Glad I added that insight. In my review I note that it could have been a 2.5 but Goodreads only works in whole numbers so I went with the lower 2 rating. I don’t know. I remember this book better than a 2 or a 2.5...again a solid 3.

2015- Nothing! I was accurate but also it may not have been long enough yet to really judge these books again…

So not too many that I judged too harshly but a handful that surprised me. I think there are probably a lot more in the 3 star range that should have been 4 or 5 but that's over a hundred books to go through and apparently my review writing wasn't as good 5 years ago and my memory sometimes sucks. Either way it’s always so fun to go back and look at what I read and what I was doing with my life when I read things. Now I need to finish my book for my bookclub… it’s not going to get a very high rating from me and I currently believe that’s appropriate...ask me again in 3 years!

Review: Hamilton: The Revolution

Hamilton: The Revolution Hamilton: The Revolution by Lin-Manuel Miranda
My rating: 0 of 5 stars

So good! This was like a behind the scenes tour or audio commentary on your favorite movie. I didn't need these stories to love Hamilton anymore but here they are they made me love it even more. This book made me cry in basically every chapter. So many heart breaking stories, so many beautiful moments, and so much passion and drive! Between the story about my fake boyfriend Leslie Odom Jr. finding his burr and Wait For It. Of course the gut wrenching stories behind It's Quiet Uptown. The entire cast was clearly sent from God, because they're perfect. It's one of those things where everything had to fall into place perfectly for it to work and it did. This is a short book - 230ish pages- and I had it pre-ordered from Amazon so it arrived yesterday on time on it's release date. But when I woke up I didn't want to wait till after work to start it, so I downloaded the audiobook and listened to the first half on my commute. I read the second half in my hardback copy. This book is gorgeous! The pages are beautiful, the pictures and the sketches and the notebooks, it's just a gorgeous item I already cherish. The audiobook is delightful, Mariska Hargitay's voice is very soothing and appropriate. I'm still going to listen to the audiobook over the next few days on my commute because sometimes they throw different things into the narration that make it fun. Also I'm waiting for Lin's part in the audiobook. In the libretto parts of the book I can't help but sing along in my head, I've been listening to this musical for half a year now and so I know it by heart. I love the backstory and the backstory of the backstory too. If you're a fan pick it up.

My life in BCS through musicals.

In 14 days I'll be moving back to San Antonio. After 3 1/2 years I've come to really love this place and the people. When I first moved here I hated it, I was so homesick I wanted to just pack up and head home. My boss joked back then that when I went home for Christmas that year she wasn't sure I would to come back! It was bad. But over Christmas I made the decision that would end up changing my life here. I looked up information about the community theatre that did musicals in town and decided to audition for one of my favorite shows. It was through this threatre that I met some amazing people and three very special ladies who would become my closest friends while living here. So it's only fitting that as I get ready to head home I commemorate my time here through songs from the shows I was a part of.

***warning sappiness to follow***

The first show I did was in the February and March of 2013. Sunset Boulevard one of my favorites growing up (my step-father had been obsessed with it). So I knew the show very well and was so excited to be in the cast and have a bunch of fun random little parts. I love the music for this show, it's Andrew Lloyd Webber on crack, fun harmonies and crazy piano, it was a fun show...well kinda dark but still really fun. The costumes were cool and 40s-ish? and it was fun to be back in character shoes after taking about a 9 year break from doing musical theatre. I wore my hair in a snood because I will always have too much hair for my own good. The song that always comes back to me is "This time next year", it takes place at a New Years party and everyone is singing about their hopes and dreams and plans for next year. I've been planning and talking about this move for almost a year now too so it's great that it's actually finally working out. My only resolution this year was to find a job, get into law school and move home- all those things are happening so I consider it a successful resolution so far.

The next show I got to do with the theatre was 9 to 5- sooooo fun! I mean Dolly- come on how could you go wrong? This show had a lot more dancing in it than I was used to/qualified for but it was just a blast! We started rehearsing for it at the end of May 2013 and it ran sometime in the Summer. So since it was summer I feel like all the cast just had a lot of fun with each other, we went out almost every night after rehearsal and it was just too much fun. I feel like all the songs were particularly meaningful to me and if I thought about certain ones I would get a little teary. I feel like the show just spoke to me so much because I had left a husband, started a new job and was feeling all the overwhelmed feelings too! "I just might" always made me tear up and we were in really low lighting so it was all sorts of emotional, "Shine like the sun" was so great too when you listen to the lyrics, but I think "Change it" is the song that really fits my time here because it was a song I always looked forward to and it cheesily plays into my own thinking. If you don't like something then get off your butt and change it! Whenever this song comes on my playlist I can't help but sing along and smile, and tear up because I'm a sappy mess.

Then I took the fall off the next semester but came back in December 2013 and January 2014 for Jesus Christ Superstar. JCS has been my favorite musical for as long as I can remember. I've seen it at the Majestic Theatre in San Antonio at least 3 times as well as 3 community productions and have wanted to be in it forever. I was so thrilled when I found out I got to be in this one because I love the show but also it was Director selected, no audition. It only ran one weekend because it was a fundraiser show and it had an abbreviated rehearsal schedule, but again it was a super fun show, the dancing was a weird sort of modern, and we needed to wear kneepads under our flowy hippie dresses. It was just a cool experience once you got past all the bruises. "Heaven on their minds" will always be my favorite song from this show- I just love it so much, but for a song that I feel represents my time here in BCS or my attitude I think "Could we start again please" is it. Not that I want to do over anything because I've loved every experience I've had here, but because I want to relive it! I would have joined the theatre community a little earlier, done some shows in the fall now that I know what my schedule looked like, but I just want to relive it all again! This who experience was unexpected for sure.

Immediately after JCS I auditioned for Little Women the show in which at 28 I played a 12 year old blonde girl from Massachusetts. Don't worry no one believed I was 12. I was so shocked when I was cast as Amy March, I believe I started screaming at 6AM when I woke up and saw the cast list. My mom was staying with me and just started laughing. This was another fun show to be a part of, a super small cast compared to the other shows I'd done. One of my favorite things about this show besides the awesome people I got to work with, were the costumes! So fun. My wedding dress was gorgeous, my back from Europe dress was shiny and pink and my dresses as young Amy were super cute with the aprons on top of them. Then of course getting to dye my hair Blonde was fun too. Yes blonde's really do have more fun I promise. I killed my hair, but it was so fun to completely change my appearance so drastically for a show. (I'll never do it again!) This is a show I was pretty much completely unfamiliar with the music prior to the show, so I'm so glad I did it because there are some great songs in it. When I think back on this show I think the song at the end of the first act that everyone loved belting out backstage or in their cars is the one that sticks with me the most. "Astonishing" it's a great song to pump yourself up and tell yourself that you're going to do the best you can and you're going to be great at it. You'll conquer everything you need to, to reach your goals. So I love it.

The last show I did at the theatre was a very different experience than all the others before it, so that's why it was my last. It wasn't bad it just didn't have the same feel and this was the point where I started to realize that the theatre had served it's purpose here to connect me with some amazing people and new friends. So my last show was the summer of 2014 for Legally Blonde. I had already started to dye my hair back to it's natural color now, so it's a good thing I was cast as Chutney the curly haired killer daughter. I was also a law student but all these roles could be done as a legal brunette. This was another dancing heavy show and I feel like it was an excellent work out between the "ethnic movement" and the prison jump rope scene.  The music for this show is just fun and happy and another great motivational song that I always come back to is "What you want". This is the number we wore band uniforms and hot shorts for (good god the hot shorts). But Elle is studying for her LSAT and trying to get into Harvard and she has to deal with all these distractions while studying and I feel like I lived that this whole song last year, studying for my LSAT and applying for law school and jobs and having so much up in the air, but I still did it all my own way and it paid off in the end...like it did for Elle ;)

So that's it! My sappy journey through musicals! I have so many pictures from these shows and some great stories, a few injuries, some good and bad costume choices and questionable eyebrow makeup. I used the word fun too many times, but that is what it was. As someone who used to be very opposed to fun, I learned to enjoy it and embrace it. I met some amazing people and created memories I'll cherish forever. I'm so glad I went out on a limb here and got involved with the theatre, my life in BCS would have been very different and possibly much shorter if I hadn't. Thank you theatre community!

***I'd be remiss if I didn't mention that in Summer 2015 I did do a brief thing with another community theatre in town, but I only came in for one song or olio during their intermissions and then left, but it was a super fun and cool experience too with the Stage Center, it was really fun to see how a different theatre in the community worked and I wish I'd done more there in my time here***
